site.btaSocialists to Run in Early Elections as the BSP-Left Bulgaria Coalition

Sofia, August 17 (BTA) - Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Mihail Mikov said he is very happy that BSP's National Council decided to run in the elections in the BSP-Left Bulgaria coalition format, BSP's press centre said. According to Mikov, the coalition will consist of new formations with a definite Left-wing image.

According to Mikov, a large part of top-of-the-list candidates have been established, except for Blagoevgrad and Gabrovo. He explained that 20 per cent of leading candidates have been renewed.

Mikov said he will be the leading candidate for Sofia 25th multimember constituency (MMC), which is traditionally led by BSP's leader, as well as in Vidin. He explained that there is no rush to declare the top-of-list candidates, because the National Council arranges them, adding that discussions about the candidate lists will continue.

According to "Standart" the nominated top-list-candidate for the region of Blagoevgrad, Kristian Vigenin, is not wanted by the party's local structure and there will be further discussions. The expected leading candidate for Gabrovo, Yordan Stoykov, was in a serious car accident on Saturday and his candidacy will depend on his recovery.
