Sofia, August 26 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Regional Development and Investment Planning Ekaterina Zaharieva and Da Nang PeopleÒs Committee President Van Huu Chien discussed opportunities for cooperation, her ministry said Tuesday. The delegation led by Van Huu Chien includes members of the PeopleÒs Committee of the Vietnamese city as well as representatives of construction business.
The Bulgarian government continues to think that the potential for development of relations between the two countries could be considerable, Zaharieva said and expressed hope for good cooperation not only on state level but also between the cities in the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister listed BulgariaÒs advantages as an investment destination, including low taxes as one of the items topping the list.
The signing of a memorandum for cooperation between the Vietnamese port city and Varna (on the Black Sea) became possible thanks to the efforts of the two governments, Van Huu Chien said. The document aims to promote contacts in the field of tourism, maritime industry, high-tech, education, culture, transport, communications and logistics.
The largest port in Bulgaria, Varna, is a door for Asian goods not only for Bulgaria, but to the entire European Union, Zaharieva said.
