Plovdiv, Southern Bulgaria, August 27 (BTA) - Chairman of the right-wing Democrats for Strong Bulgaria Radan Kanev has been nominated to lead the Reformist Bloc, Kanev himself told a news conference Wednesday. The final choice between the nominations of Kanev and of Union of Democratic Forces leader Bozhidar Loukarski will be made at a forum of the Reformist Bloc on September 13.
Kanev said that Bulgaria's right must never again be divided and dependant on external factors. He said that only when united the right can have the strength to remove from power the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). "There is no doubt that the Bulgarians want a rightist-centrist government," Kanev said.
Kanev said that the right will push for Grand National Assembly elections so as to "cut the ulcers in the judicial system". He said also that the BSP and MRF must stay outside the executive power for a period of ten years.
