site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,488 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 6.1%

Sofia, November 27 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 687,410, after 40,630 tests identified 2,488 new infections on Friday, 81.35 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 6.1 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 618 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 216 cases and Varna Region with 156.

The active cases are 105,118. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 6,606, including 779 in intensive care. Of the 599 hospital admissions over the last 24 hours, 86.48 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical stuff have reached 17,281 since the start of the pandemic.

Another 2,443 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 554,296.

105 fatalities were reported (91.43 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 27,996.

With 21,482 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,283,897 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,749,169 people are fully vaccinated, and 84,785 have received a booster jab.
