FITUR 2015 - International Tourism Trade Fair Opening,
Meets Felipe VI of Spain

Madrid/Sofia, January 29 (BTA) - Tourism Minister Nikolina
Angelkova met with King Felipe VI of Spain at the official
opening of FITUR 2015, the International Tourism Trade Fair
which is being held in Madrid, Angelkova's ministry told BTA
Thursday.

During her two-day visit to Spain, Angelkova also conferred with
Taleb Rifai, the current Secretary-General of the United
Nations' World Tourism Organization (WTO), Oleg Safonov, the
head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, and Spanish
Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism Jose Manuel Soria. WTO
is ready to support the development of a network of sustainable
tourism labs in Bulgaria and the Danube region, it emerged after
the meeting with Rifai. Such observatories are established in
conjunction with academic or scientific centres, with students
and lecturers working on the monitoring on a certain set of
indicators, following WTO methodology and under their control.
The collected data are important for studying the trends and
marking out the measures to improve the tourist products of any
one country.

Angelkova invited Rifai, Safonov and Soria to visit Bulgaria.

The FITUR Trade Show is one of the largest in the world,
scheduled this year for January 28 to February 1. Bulgaria is
exhibiting its opportunities at an 80 sq m stall which has
