PES President Enlists EPP President's Support for Bulgaria's Schengen Entry

Brussels, March 19 (BTA) - The Presidents of the two largest
European parties, Sergei Stanishev of the Party of European
Socialists (PES) and Joseph Daul of the
European People's Party (EPP), held a regular working meeting in
 Brussels ahead of the European Council meeting, PES said in a
press release on Thursday.

At the meeting, Stanishev familiarized Daul with the campaign
"Bulgaria in Schengen. It's Time!" and enlisted his support for
this country's admission to the Schengen area.

"Bulgaria's Schengen entry is a national cause, and it is
important to have the support of all political parties so as to
be able to add the subject to the European agenda," Stanishev
said after the meeting.
