Sofia, March 23 (BTA) - The prosecuting magistracy and UNICEF
have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation,
according to which they will cooperate in guaranteeing the
rights of children participating in the penal process, the
prosecution office said Monday.

A series of trainings aimed at strengthening the capacity of
prosecutors in their work on children's rights protection, was
launched Monday. The trainings will pay special attention to the
rights of children participating in legal proceedings,
particularly to children who have witnessed crimes and violence.

The memorandum of understanding and cooperation also envisages
the development of a mechanism for coordination and interaction
between the prosecuting bodies and all the other competent
institutions in the cases of children who are victims and
witnesses of crimes or violence.

The prosecuting magistracy and UNICEF will also exchange
documents, information and data from national and international
