Washington/Sofia, March 25 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Deputy Prime
Minister and Interior Minister Roumyana Buchvarova held talks
with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) on March 24, the second day of
her visit to the US, the Interior Ministry reported on
Wednesday. Buchvarova also conferred with Assistant Secretary of
State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and the
State Department's Coordinator for Counterterrorism Tina
Kaidanow.

The sides discussed the fight against international terrorism
and drug trafficking. They considered future steps in
Bulgaria-US cooperation, including the training of law enforcers
in the two countries and the exchange of successful practices
in combating violent radicalism.

They paid special attention to Bulgaria's efforts in the field
of border security and the suppression of foreign militants.

Buchvarova updated the US partners on concrete measures to
protect the Bulgarian borders, underscoring her country's role
as an external frontier of the EU.

She and Counterterrorism Coordinator Kaidanow reaffirmed the
