New Blasts at Ordnance Warehouse of VMZ Works near Iganovo Village

Plovdiv, April 14 (BTA) - Police were alerted Tuesday morning
about new explosions on the Plant B manufacturing site of the
Vazov Engineering Works (VMZ), 2 km from the Village of Iganovo,
Karlovo Municipality (Central Bulgaria), the Plovdiv Regional
Directorate of the Interior Ministry said in a press release.
Experts of the police and of VMZ are already on site.
Information about the scale of the damage and about any
casualties is not available at this point.

The residents of the nearest quarter of Iganovo have been
evacuated by two buses. The new blasts again hit a warehouse
where no manufacturing is taking place.

Road I-6 Sofia-Bourgas at Iganovo has been closed to traffic,
the Road Infrastructure Agency said in a press release.

This is the second explosion on the same site, after one on
March 21, in which no one was hurt and no air pollution was
caused.
