site.btaSofia Opera to Participate in Konigswinkel Classics Festival in Fussen in 2022

Sofia, December 4 (BTA) - The Sofia Opera will take part in the Konigswinkel Classics Festival at the Neuschwanstein Festival Theatre in Fussen, Bavaria, from September 28 to October 3, 2022, the theatre said.

This Sofia Opera and Ballet has previously visited Fussen in September 2015 with a four-evening cycle performance of "Der Ring des Nibelungen'' by Richard Wagner in September 2015. Many German, Austrian and international Wagner fans attended Sofia Opera's production, which was highly acclaimed by the international press.

The management of the Konigswinkel Music Festival appreciates Sofia's approach to staging Wagner's operas and is confident in its new production of ''Der fliegende Hollander'' (The Flying Dutchman), which will fist premiere in Sofia and on Lake Pancharevo near Sofia, before being part the festival in 2022.

The management of the Konigswinkel 2022 Festival offers its full support to make this long-awaited tour possible. Many visitors from the nearby Bavarian capital Munich and many other Bavarian cities, as well as from Austria and Switzerland, are expected to come to Fussen for the performance. DT//
