Traffic is heavy at some of the border crossings with Romania and Serbia, as reported on the General Directorate Border Police's website early Wednesday.

At the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic through the Kardam, Oryahovo and Nikopol border control checkpoints for lorries.

Due to repair works of the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge over the Danube on the Bulgarian side, traffic is controlled by traffic lights to let vehicles through in stages. Alternative routes can go through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha or Krushari. Kaynardzha and Krushari are open daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and lorries are not allowed through them.

Traffic at the border crossings with Greece is normal.

Traffic at the border crossings with Serbia is heavy at the Kalotina checkpoint for passenger cars entering Bulgaria.

Traffic at the border crossings with North Macedonia and Turkiye is normal.
