Lower-than-Expected Price of Electricity for Household, Industrial Consumers in August
Sofia, July 22 (BTA) - The prices of electricity to enter force
as of the start of August are expected to be lower than the
calculations the state regulator had made for prices that were
supposed to be effective as of July 1, Electricity and Water
Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Chairman Ivan Ivanov told reporters
on Wednesday.
"In no case shall there be a reverse trend - of increasing the
prices for household and industrial consumers," Ivanov said,
adding that after the promulgation of recent amendments to the
Energy Act in the Official Gazette, which is expected to take
place on Friday, EWRC will have grounds to reflect the ensuing
changes in the parameters of the price-forming elements and come
up with decision on the price of electricity by the end of the
month. "We will have enough time as the Commission does not have
to design a new price model," Ivanov said.
