Unemployment Drops to 9.9% in June

Sofia, August 14 (BTA) - The unemployment rate in the second
quarter of 2015 stands at 9.9 per cent, which is 1.5 percentage
points compared to the same period of 2014, said the National
Statistical Institute in a Friday press release.

The number of unemployed stands at 330,900 persons. The
economically active persons aged between 15 and 64 are
1,449,800, which is 30.6 per cent of the population in that age
group. A total of 165,700 of all unemployed persons described
themselves as being discouraged, which is 26,200 less compared
to the second quarter of 2014, the Institute said.

Unemployment in the second quarter of this year is 10.9 per cent
 among males and 8.8 per cent among females. There were a a
total of 195,000 unemployed males in the second quarter of this
year, comprising 58.9 per cent, and 135,900 females, comprising
41.1 per cent of all unemployed persons.
