Engines of New Jobs in Bulgaria Are Processing Industry, Outsourcing and IT Sector, Industry Watch Report Says

Sofia, August 27 (BTA) - The engines of the new jobs in Bulgaria
 are the processing industry, outsourcing and business services
and sector IT & communication services - a total of 41,000
additional jobs have been opened. These sectors (as well as
finance and tourism) are the reason for a positive trend in
employment, an Industry Watch report titled "Engines of New
Jobs" finds.

In the cities, the most noticeable increase employment in IT and
 outsourcing services are in Sofia and Plovdiv where jobs in
this sector rose by 16 per cent and 15 per cent compared to
2008.

At the same time, industry continues to be a major source of
employment for low-skilled job candidates. In regions with more
private investment in the manufacturing industry sector a
significantly smaller proportion of low skilled people are
having to rely on funding from local activities and subsidized
employment.

Salaries in the segment of low and medium-skilled staff remained
 the highest in Sofia, but in some of the alrgest industrial
cities they have grown over 20 per cent in the last two years:
22 per cent in Plovdiv, 17 per cent in Sofia, 15 per cent in
Rousse 11 per cent in Bourgas and 9 per cent in Varna.

 The salaries of highly-skilled IT staff increase most
dynamically in Sofia, Industry Watch and calculator.bg reporting
 an average 2,700 leva a month, after taxes and social security
contributions in the first half of 2015. Official statistics
record the fastest increase of salaries in this sector in
Plovdiv, Rousse and Varna.
