Culture Minister Congratulates Actor Finzi on Being Named Germany's Top Actor of the Year

Sofia, August 12 (BTA) - Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov
congratulated Samuel Finzi on being named top actor of the year
in Germany, Rashidov's Ministry said.
      
As berlinonline.de reported, the prestigious award is conferred
on the actor for his performance of the role of Vladimir in
Samuel Becket's "Waiting for Godot". The annual ranking is made
based on a questionnaire filled by 42 theatrical critics of the
"Theater Heute" magazine.
 
Samuel Finzi, a German actor of Bulgarian-Jewish descent, was
born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in 1966. He is the son of famous
Bulgarian actor Itzhak Finzi. Samuel played his first theatrical
 and film roles while still a student. He has worked with
directors with a major influence on European theater and film,
such as Benno Besson, Dimiter Gotscheff, Frank Castorf, Jurgen
Gosch, Robert Wilson, Michael Glawogger, Oliver Hirschbiegel,
Peter Popzlatev, Sonke Wortmann and many others.
