Reformist Bloc Parties
to Run on Single Ticket in
Local Elections

Sofia, August 31 (BTA) - The five parties of the Reformist Bloc (RB) held a joint meeting, at which they decided to run on a single ticket during the upcoming local elections, the RB Press Centre said on Monday.

The leaders of the five parties will sign a coalition agreement for the single registration for the elections by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 1.

All RB representatives, who took part in the meeting at the Union of Democratic Forces HQ said they supported the single registration and noone knew how the Sunday misunderstanding had emerged.

On Sunday, three RB member parties, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), the Bulgarian Agrarian National Union (BANU) and the People's Party for Freedom and Dignity (PPFD), granted a joint news conference declaring their will for running on a single ticket in the upcoming elections. However, the announcement was made in the absence of the two remaining parties in the RB coalition - Union of the Democratic Forces (UDF) and Bulgaria for the Citizens Movement (BCM). On Monday, UDF leader Bozhidar Loukarski said that he did not know why his formation and Meglena Kuneva's BCM were not invited on Sunday. /LN/TK/
