EU Nationals Wishing to Vote at Local Elections Can Apply until September 14

Sofia, September 13 (BTA) - The Central Election Commission (CEC) Sunday recalled that September 14 is the deadline for the submission of applications by EU nationals wishing to vote at the local elections in October.

The applicants have to submit a declaration (Supplement No. 8 of the election documents for inclusion in the electoral register) at the municipal administration corresponding to their current address, provided that the applicants have not submitted such a declaration at the previous local elections or, if they have, there has been a change in their identity documents and current address.

The declaration can be downloaded from the website of the Central Election Commission, http://www.cik.bg/.

The nationals of other EU Member States have the right to vote at the local elections in Bulgaria if they have lived for at least six months in the corresponding settlement prior to the elections, CEC recalled.
