EC Vice President Sefcovic Participates in South East Europe Energy Conference in Sofia

Sofia, September 15 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov Tuesday unveiled here a conference entitled "Energy Security and Energy Infrastructure in South East Europe". Participating in the forum are European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova and Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov.

Borissov said that Sefcovic's frequent visits to Bulgaria are a fact demonstrating the significance of this country. Bulgaria, being a member of the EU and NATO as well as an entrance to Europe from Asia, is a very interesting country in every respect, the Prime Minister noted.

In his words, today's problems are no less serious than the financial crisis from the previous years. The energy supplies remain a big problem, he added. Bulgaria wants to have gas supplies from various countries and routes. This country's problem is that gas connections take time, Borissov said.

The conference is attended by over 400 people, including 30 ambassadors from four continents and representatives of 50 institutions from Bulgaria and the region, 15 NGOs and 40 media, the organizers said.
