Old Town Days Begin in Plovdiv

Plovdiv, September 21 (BTA) - Old Town Days begin in Plovdiv on Monday. The initiative includes many cultural events and the tradition Crafts Fair and will continue by the end of the week.

The "Together" performance of the Trakiya and Pirin folk ensembles is a central event of the programme for a second consecutive year. The unique pipeline ensemble, 101 Pipes, will stage a concert at the Antique Theatre on September 26. There will be numerous exhibitions, concerts, shows and children's activities.

This year's events are held under the motto "The Old Town is..." The idea is to encourage citizens and guests of Plovdiv to finish the phrase by arranging a 33-piece puzzle and then present it to the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation. This will be used as means to convey the messages with which the Old City will participate in Plovdiv's European Capital of Culture programme.
