Regional Development Minister Meets with Chinese Governmental Delegation

Sofia, September 24 (BTA) - Regional Development and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova Thursday met with a visiting Chinese governmental delegation headed by Huang Danhua, Vice Chairperson of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), Pavlova's ministry said.

Pavlova said that Bulgaria and China have excellent political relations and a serious potential in the economic sphere. Bulgaria is an active participant in the 16+1 cooperation initiative between China and Central and Eastern Europe, which provides prospects for the entire region's development, she added.

As a representative of SASAC, which supervises over 110 of the most important state companies, Huang Danhua said that Chinese investors' interest in Bulgaria is in various sectors and is serious, because they see real opportunities for growth and development in this country. According to the SASAC Vice Chair, the investments of Chinese companies are innovative, provide jobs and are socially responsible.

Pavlova said that the Government creates a good investment opportunity by maintaining low corporate taxes and various preferences for investors, including for those in regions with high unemployment level. The Regional Development Minister presented to the Chinese delegation some infrastructure projects which could interest big international investors.
