No Geographical Limitations for NATO's Partnership - Assistant Secretary General
Sofia, September 25 (BTA) - "There are no geographical limitations to NATO's partnerships," NATO's Assistant Secretary General Sorin Ducaru said at a public lecture in Sofia. The lecture was on: "Increasing Challenges in the Modern World" and was organized by the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. The lecturer said that there is an increasing number of challenges in the security landscape.
Partnership is an important dimension of security, Ducaru commented mentioning the EU, the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Council of Europe among the partners of the Alliance. He said that there are both new and old challenges and singled out the cyber threat, the hybrid war concept and the complex, diverse and dynamic picture in the modern world.
Ducaru also paid attention to NATO's Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme noting that it helps develop the instruments for addressing these challenges.
Also on Friday, the guest took part in an information day of the SPS Programme organized by the Ministry of Education and Science.
