Autumn Edition of International Technical Fair Starts

Plovdiv, South Central Bulgaria, September 28 (BTA) - Speaking at the opening of the 71st Autumn Edition of the International Technical Fair on Monday, Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski said there were all kinds of indicators that the crisis was drawing to an end.

Construction and the economy in general are showing signs of recovery, the Economy Minister said, adding that Bulgaria's economy grew 2.2 per cent, while the projection for the EU was 1.6 per cent.

"Known for innovations, the autumn fair is called the biggest technological meeting in the Balkans. Innovations are considered the most important factor in increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy," Loukarski said.

This year's edition of the fair has attracted over 800 companies from 35 countries. Visitors can see the latest in mechanical engineering, construction, electronics, electrical engineering, energy, the environment, water management and IT, etc. It ends on October 3.
