Foreign Ministry Advises Bulgarians to Refrain from Travelling to Jerusalem

Sofia, October 14 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry issued
a warning to travelers on its website on Wednesday, advising
Bulgarian citizens to refrain from travelling to Jerusalem and
especially the so called Old City, as well as to avoid other
tourist destinations in Israel and the West Bank.

The Foreign Ministry advises Bulgarians who are currently in
Israel to avoid travelling with city transportation and visit
crowded areas, due to the potential risk of terrorist attacks
and clashes.

Bulgarians residing in Israel are advised to avoid travelling to
border areas where tensions are high, especially along the Gaza
border and the regions bordering Syria and Lebanon. There is a
potential risk of sporadic missile or other fire against Israeli
territory, as a few such incidents have already been
registered.

Those Bulgarians who must travel to Israel for urgent reasons
are advised to register on the Foreign Ministry's website or
provide their contact information to the Bulgarian Embassy in
Tel Aviv.
