Sofia, July 28 (BTA) - Parliament Friday elected Prof. Kamen Plochev as Manager of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) with 206 votes "for" and one abstention.

Prof. Plochev has 38 professional experience in the healthcare system, some of which in the sphere of manasgement.

He is a graduate of the Medical Academy in Sofia and has a doctoral degree in infectious diseases and later specialised in health management. He became a professor in 2012.

Prof. Plochev has unquestionable authority and excellent professional reputation Health Care Committee Chair Daniela Daritkova said when she presented him in plenary.

Plochev's mandate will continue until 2020.
