site.btaBulgaria, Albania, Macedonia Launch Process for Construction of Common Security Platform

Sofia, December 2 (BTA) - After the plenary and bilateral meetings held within the US-Adriatic Charter Defence Ministerial in Ohrid, Macedonia, a trilateral meeting took place on Friday between the defence ministers of Bulgaria and Macedonia and Albanian Deputy Minister of Defence Petro Koci, the Bulgarian Defence Ministry reported Saturday.

The participants in the meeting agreed on specific actions related to the planning and conducting of joint exercises and training of the Special Operations Forces, as well as of the structures responsible for actions in emergency situation. They expressed the joint position that these talks mark the beginning of an important political process for common defence initiatives, which creates conditions for the building of a common security platform in this part of the Balkans covered by the project for Pan-European Corridor VIII's construction.
