site.btaPresident's Bulgarian Christmas Campaign Raises Lv 2 Mln-Plus for Sick Children

Sofia, December 26 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Christmas Initiative of the President has already raised more than 2 million leva for sick children, and the effort continues. The news was reported after a fundraising show at the National Theatre in Sofia on Christmas, which proceeded under the patronage of President Rumen Radev, his press secretariat reported.

This 15th annual installment of the campaign, launched at the beginning of December, has so far seen 484,000 one-lev donations by text message at number 1117 and by phone call at number 0900 1117. Donors have also given 1,525,000 leva via the initiative's bank account, and another 16,000 leva has been donated via ePay.bg. The campaign continues all the year round.

In addition to President Radev, Monday's show at the National Theatre was also attended by National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva, Bulgarian Orthodox Church leader Neophyte, former President Rosen Plevneliev, diplomats, physicians and many children who have benefited from the Bulgarian Christmas Initiative.

During the show, the noble cause of providing medical aid to kids was supported by celebrated Bulgarian musicians, singers, dancers, actors, athletes and journalists. This year, the concert was organized by Dream Team Productions and was aired live on Bulgarian National Television, Nova Television and Bulgarian National Radio.
