site.btaDeposits of Non-Government Sector Down by LV 158 Mln over a Month

Sofia, December 29 (BTA) - Bank deposits of the non-government sector contracted by 158 million leva between the end of October and the end of November, reaching 70.946 billion leva or 72.3 per cent of the GDP. The figure showed an year-on-year increase of 5.3 per cent, the central bank said.

At the end of November, deposits of non-financial organizations totalled 21.631 billion leva (21.9 per cent of GDP) which was up by 12.2 per cent from this time last year.

The deposits of financial organizations dropped by 28.3 per cent year-on year to reach 2.583 billion leva or 3 per cent of GDP. At the end of October, the respective figure was 2.971 billion leva.

The deposits of households and non-commercial organizations servicing households totalled 46.732 billion leva or 47.6 per cent of the GDP. It was an increase by 5.1 per cent from this time last year.

At the end of November, loans to the non-government sector stood at 53.252 billion leva (54.3 per cent of GDP), against 52.986 billion leva at the end of October. It was a 4.2 per cent increase from this time last year.

Loans to non-financial organizations increased by 1.3 per cent on an yearly basis to 31.409 billion leva (32 per cent of GDP) at the end of November.

Loans to households and non-commercial organizations servicing households totalled 19.787 billion leva (20.2 per cent of GDP) increasing 6.2 per cent from this time last year.

Housing loans totalled 9.410 billion leva at the end of November, up by 6.8 per cent from this time last year.

Consumer loans stood at 7.834 billion leva, increasing by 6.7 per cent from the end of November 2016.

Loans to financial organizations totalled 2.056 billion leva (2.1 per cent of GDP) which was up 37.1 per cent from November 2016.

Net foreign assets amounted to 51.193 billion leva at the end of November, down from 51.951 billion a month earlier and 1.2 per cent more than this time last year.

Foreign assets went up by 0.9 per cent in November to 59.995 billion leva. Foreign liabilities totalled 8.802 billion leva, decreasing 0.9 per cent year-on-year.
