site.btaGovernment Approves Lv 51 Mln in Extra Expenditures on Defence Ministry Budget

Sofia, December 29 (BTA) - Acting without meeting, on December 22 Bulgaria's Council of Ministers adopted a decree approving 51 million leva in extra expenditures and transfers for 2017 on the budget of the Ministry of Defence, the Government Information Service said on Friday.

At the expense of the resources allocated for ensuring the airworthiness of the MiG-20 fighters, the procedure for which was suspended by a third party appeal, 23 million leva were provided under the Defence Ministry budget: 20 million leva for maintenance of the hardware of the Bulgarian Air Force airfields' communication, information and navigation systems, 2 million leva for construction and repair, and 1 million leva for remodelling of the office building of the Military Information Service.

Another 28 million leva were transferred through the Defence Ministry budget for repair work at the higher military schools: 7 million leva for the G. S. Rakovski National Defence College in Sofia, 16 million leva for the Vassil Levski National Military University in Veliko Turnovo, and 5 million leva for the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna.
