Central Depository Creates Electronic Platform
for General Meetings of Public
Companies
Sofia, February 16 (BTA) - The Central Depositary created an electronic platform for holding general meetings of public companies. The platform allows all operations involved in the organization of general meetings, creating shareholder or bondholder registers and holding the general meetings, to be performed online.
The general meetings can be fully online or hybrid.
The benefits for the shareholders or bondholders of the companies are in the opportunity for early voting, authorization of proxies and online participation in general meetings.
The new platform will count voting results and will generate statistics.
The most serious advantage of the platform is the opportunity to check the lineup of the shareholders or bondholders of a company because the Central Depository is the only authority which maintains up-to-date database of shareholders in public companies.
The new platform is accessible on the website of the Central Depository.
Shareholders in the Central Depository are the Finance Ministry, large commercial banks and investment brokers. LY/LN/
