Sofia, February 18 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva cabled condolences to her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif over the airplane crash in southern Iran, which killed 66 people, Zaharieva's Ministry reported Sunday.
Zaharieva says she was deeply saddened by the news of the Sunday airplane crash in the Zagros mountains. She extends her most sincere condolences to Minister Zarif and to the Iranian people, as well as sympathy for the pain and suffering of the friends and relatives of those who were killed.
An Aseman Airlines passenger airplane, en route from Tehran to the south-western city of Yasuj, crashed some 780 km south of the Iranian capital. All 66 people on board have been killed, the press release quotes Iranian State TV as having reported.
According to official information from the Bulgarian Embassy in Tehran, no Bulgarian citizens have been injured or killed in the plane crash, the Foreign Ministry said.
