site.btaEconomy Minister Karanikolov Meets Representatives of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund

Sofia, March 9 (BTA) - Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov conferred with representatives of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Karanikolov's Ministry said in a press release.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency, Stamen Yanev, Saudi Arabia Ambassador here Mesfer bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghasib, PIF Manager in charge of international investments Turki Al-Nowaiser and a PIF senior assistant.

Karanikolov familiarized the participants in the meeting with the opportunities for investments in Bulgaria. He noted that Bulgaria wishes to actively develop its economic relations with Saudi Arabia. The Minister said that the traditionally good bilateral ties in commerce and the favourable market capabilities of Saudi Arabia make the country a promising foreign economic partner of Bulgaria.

Karanikolov assured the guests of the efforts the Bulgarian executive power to ensure a favourable investment environment. He noted the opportunity for strategic cooperation and exchange of experience between InvestBulgaria and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority. The Minister presented several investment projects.

Ambassador Mesfer bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghasib thanked for the information provided by Karanikolov and said that he expects expansion of the cooperation and new contacts between businessmen from the two countries soon.
