site.btaDeputy PM Karakachanov Attends B9 Defence Ministers Meeting in Bucharest

Bucharest, March 13 (BTA) - Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Krassimir Karakachanov took part in a Bucharest-9 (B9) Initiative Defence Ministers Meeting that opened in Bucharest on Tuesday, Karakachanov's Ministry said in a press release.

At the meeting, the delegations of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary discussed the implementation of the 2014 NATO Warsaw Summit, paying special attention to security-building measures of eastern flank Allies and the organization's tailored responses to security challenges. The participants in the meeting exchanged views on the NATO Summit due to take place in July in Brussels.

The Defence Ministers were received by Romanian Chamber of Deputies President Liviu Dragnea and by Romania's President Klaus Iohannis.

Within the framework of the forum, Karakachanov held a bilateral meeting with Estonian Defence Minister Juri Luik. They considered opportunities for deepening military cooperation between the two countries, paying special attention to the interaction achieved within the European Union.
