site.btaSlovenian President Pahor Arrives on Official Visit to Sofia with First Direct Service Flight from Ljubljana

Sofia, March 25 (BTA) - Slovenian President Borut Pahor arrived Sunday on a two-day official visit to Bulgaria, with the first flight of the newly opened direct service between Sofia and Ljubljana.

At the VIP area of the Sofia Airport the guest was welcomed by the chef de cabinet of President Rumen Radev, Ivo Hristov, Radev's Foreign Policy Secretary Atanas Krustin and Bulgarian Ambassador in Slovenia Dimiter Abadjiev.

On March 26 Pahor is scheduled to confer with his Bulgarian counterpart. The talks between the two heads of State will focus on the perspectives for the Western Balkans' European integration in the context of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Slovenia and deepening regional cooperation.

As part of his visit, President Pahor is also scheduled to confer with National Assembly Deputy Chair Yavor Notev and the Chair of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Dzhema Grozdanova.

The Sunday flight from Ljubljana opened the summer flying schedule of the Sofia Airport. The flights from Ljubljana will be thrice weekly, on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Approached by reporters, Abadjiev said that the direct flight service with Ljubljana will be round the year, with more flights in the summer. The flights will be carried out by Adria Airways. The price for a two-way tickets is expected to be between 100 and 200 euros.
