site.btaEU Environment Ministers to Hold Informal Meeting in Sofia on April 10 and 11

Sofia, April 6 (BTA) - An informal meeting of EU Environment Ministers will take place at Sofia's National Palace of Culture on April 10 and 11, the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water said in a press release on Thursday.

Nineteen environment ministers and over 40 delegations are expected to exchange views on three topics: possible solutions to improve ambient air quality, better implementation of the EU environment legislation, and international climate change negotiations and the Talanoa Dialogue.

EU Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella will also take part in the meeting.

At the beginning of the informal Environment Council, which is on the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council, the first cooperation agreement for the new funding period under the European Economic Area Financing Mechanism 2014-2021 will be signed between Bulgaria and the Donor States: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
