Sofia, August 14 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has cabled condolences to Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in connection with the tragic incident on the Ponte Morandi near Genoa, the Government Information Service said on Tuesday.

The motorway bridge collapsed on Tuesday, killing at least 22 people and injuring many more.

"At this harrowing moment for Italy, I would like to express my most sincere condolences to you and to the friendly Italian people," the Bulgarian head of government pointed out. He assured his counterpart of Bulgaria's solidarity and support and wished speedy recovery to the victims and mitigation of the effects of the disaster. LI/LG
