site.btaPM Borissov, Turkish Trade Minister Pekcan Discuss Boosting Bilateral Cooperation

November 19 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and
Turkish Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan discussed the
opportunities for expanding cooperation in bilateral trade
relations, the government information service said on Monday.

The meeting focused on the development and promotion of trade
and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey. Deepening
relations in various sectors, such as bilateral trade,
investments and construction were underscored.

Borissov and Pekcan took into account the good work at the joint
 Bulgaria-Turkey business forums, as well as the successful
operation of the Bulgarian-Turkish intergovernmental Commission
for Economic Cooperation.

In 2017 Turkish investments in Bulgaria amounted to 81.1 million
 euro. The interest by Turkish companies in Bulgaria targets
projects involving the development of this country's transport
and energy infrastructure, construction of residential, trade
and office buildings, as well as the banking sector. There is
potential for more of car parts manufacturers.

In 2017 Bulgaria was visited by 636,046 Turkish citizens. This
is a 12.5 per cent increase, ranking Turkey fourth after Greece,
 Romania and Germany by number of tourists./RY/BR
