Memorandum of Understanding


Sofia, May 20 (BTA) - Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov has signed a memorandum of understanding between the Bulgarian prosecution service and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on strengthening and enhancing cooperation and information exchange between the two, the prosecution service said.

The memorandum is about the fight against organized crime, fraud, corruption, collusion, coercion, obstruction, money laundering and/or financing of terrorism and their impact on the national budget and projects co-financed by the EIB.

Cooperation encompasses exchange of documents and information, expertise and technical assistance in line with the memorandum.

The Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office and the EIB, through the Inspectorate General's Fraud Investigations Division, have committed to exchange documents and information needed in investigations into illegal practices and related crimes. LI/DD
