site.btaBulgaria, Mongolia Sign Protocol to Expand Economic Relations

June 25 (BTA) - Economy Minister Emil
Karanikolov and Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture,
Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg have signed a Protocol at the
7th Bulgarian-Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission on
Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation held in
Ulaanbaatar, the Economy Ministry said on Tuesday.

The document reviews Bulgarian-Mongolian economic relations and
outlines the grounds for their development.

Karanikolov pointed out that in 2018 two-way trade amounted to
2.1 million US dollars and that imports from Mongolia were
registered for the first time, consisting of woolen clothes and
textiles.

"Bulgarian exports are increasing and comprise foods, medicines,
 cosmetics and wine from fresh grapes," the Minister added.
Along with trade in agricultural and food products, work between
 the academic circles and research institutes should continue in
 agriculture, including viticulture and wine making.

Within the framework of his official visit, Karanikolov also
conferred with Foreign Minister Damdin Tsogtbaatar with whom he
discussed ways to continue high-level political dialogue, to
promote trade and economic ties, and conduct exchanges in
science, education and culture./IG/BR
