Suffers Minor Injuries
in Car Accident

September 15 (BTA) - National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva has been involved in a car accident and suffered a broken collarbone, Parliament's press centre told BTA on Sunday. She is to undergo further medical examinations in Sofia.

Karayancheva was travelling in a National Service for Protection (NSP) car on the road between the northeastern towns of Shoumen and Silistra, when another driver lost control of their car and hit Karayancheva's. She was in Silistra to mark the town's holiday on Saturday evening.

Earlier on Sunday, the Interior Ministry reported that three persons have been taken to hospital as a result of the accident. Both drivers tested negative for alcohol.

Karayancheva wrote in a Facebook post that she was in a car accident and has suffered shoulder trauma, but is fine and grateful for the compassion. She explains that she is using the social media platform, as she cannot answer all the calls. "I would like to thank the team in the Shoumen hospital. As far as I know, the other parties involved in the crash are fine," she further says.

The NSP reported that the accident happened at around 10:30 am on Sunday, when a 31 year-old driver of the other vehicle collided with theirs. The NSP driver's swift reaction has limited the damages from the collision. The causes of the accident are yet to be determined. MY
