September 16 (BTA) - The consumer price index (CPI) in
August 2019 stood at 100.1 per cent, compared to July, meaning
that the monthly inflation in August was 0.1 per cent, the
National Statistical Institute reported here on Monday.
 
The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (August 2019
compared to December 2018) was 2.1 per cent and the annual
inflation in August 2019 compared to August 2018 was 2.9 per
cent.

The annual average inflation, measured by CPI, in the last 12
months (September 2018 - August 2019) compared to the previous
12 months (September 2017- August 2018) was 3.2 per cent. RY/MY
