GERB Wins Capital, Loses at Least Three Regional Cities
in Second Round of Local Elections,
Show Early Results


Sofia, November 3 (BTA) - GERB's candidate for Sofia mayor, Yordanka Fandakova, was re-elected to the post for a fourth term, show early results of the second round of local elections held across Bulgaria on Sunday. The incumbents won the second and third biggest cities of Plovdiv and Varna, but have lost at least three regional capitals. Candidates nominated and supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) have won the elections in Blagoevgrad and Rousse, show the inconclusive results.

Following are preliminary results of the second round voting at the local elections in Bulgaria according to 100 per cent parallel vote count conducted by the respective polling agency, for the respective city. Conclusive results in respect of all the 19 regional capitals in Bulgaria, where run-off elections were held, are expected on Monday. //
