site.btaBulgargaz Proposes 1.94 Per Cent Natural Gas Price Reduction for First Quarter of 2020

December 11 (BTA) - Bulgargaz EAD has proposed to the
Energy and Water Regulatory Commission to approve a price of
natural gas for the first quarter of 2020 amounting to 43.98
leva/MWh (excluding the prices of access and transmission,
excise duty and value added tax), the sole public supplier said
in a press release on Tuesday.

This price applies to end providers of natural gas and to
persons licensed for heat production and transmission.

Compared to the price approved for the fourth quarter of 2019
(excluding access, transmission, excise duty and VAT), the price
proposed for the first quarter of 2020 is 0.87 leva/MWh or 1.94
 per cent lower.

The price decrease is due to the expected lower delivery charges
as a result of a change of the delivery destination to
Strandja/Malkoclar at Bulgaria's border with Turkey, effective
January 1, 2020.

"Bulgargaz EAD is holding negotiations with Gazprom Export on a
reduction of the natural gas supply cost for Bulgaria. Even
though the deadline for reaching agreement expired on December
3, 2019, the two parties continue the negotiations, with the
Bulgarian company insisting that the supply cost for Bulgarian
customers should reflect the price fluctuations at the liquid
continental gas hubs and the effective prices at the borders
between Germany, France and Italy," the press release says. "The
interest of both parties presupposes that the negotiations are
finalized in the shortest possible time," Bulgargaz adds. DT/LG
