December 25 (BTA) - The Christian world Wednesday marks one of its biggest church holidays, the Nativity of Christ or Christmas, which commemorates the birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Various Bulgarian officials extended messages to their fellow Bulgarians on account of the holiday.

President Rumen Radev addressed Bulgarians on his Facebook page with "Merry Christmas!" and wished health and joy to every Bulgarian family. "Let us be better and give warmth and a smile to the people around us," wrote President Radev .

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov also shared a Christmas message on his Facebook page. "Today is the time to be with our loved ones. Let us all be healthy, happy and kindhearted," wrote the Prime Minister.

National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva posted a video address on her Facebook page, in which she wished love and genuine joy to her fellow Bulgarians, but also reminded them to not forget those who are having a hard time during the holidays. "May the Christmas spirit make us better, stronger and more human," said Karayancheva. NV/DT
