site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 163 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 8.8%

Sofia, February 15 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 229,679 after 1,825 tests identified
163 new infections on Sunday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
8.8 per cent. The comparable figures for Saturday were 506
positive tests out of 6,537 altogether, or 7.74 per cent.

A total of 1,522,236 tests have been performed in this country
since the first infections were diagnosed on March 8.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 54 positive
tests, followed by Bourgas Region with 23 cases and Pleven
Region with 16.

The active cases are 23,135. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 3,425, including 327 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 9,840.

Another 327 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 196,920.

Sixteen fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up
 to 9,624.

With 68 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 75,388 persons
in aggregate have so far been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 20,698 have received both doses. NV/LG
