June 28 (BTA) - Bulgarian students have won two gold and
 three bronze medals at the European Physics Olympiad (EUPhO).
Participating were 219 entrants from 46 countries, said the
Education Ministry on Monday.

Eleventh-grader Alexander Prodanov from the High School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Kazanlak and  twelfth-grader
 Vassil Nikolov from the First Private Mathematical High School
in Sofia won gold medals.

Twelfth-graders Viktor Vassilev and Alexander Iliev from the
Paisiy Hilendarski High School of Mathematics in Sofia and
eleventh-grader Yavor Yordanov from the National High School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sofia won bronze medals.

For a second year in a row the competition took place online.
Students used special software to simulate data for two of the
problems in the experimental round. They had been under the
watch of the organizers during the entire time.

The Bulgarian team is headed by senior assistant professor Neno
Todorov and Georgi Alexandrov, a student at the Faculty of
Physics of the Sofia University. RI/PP
