October 26 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 575,306, after 51,688 tests identified a new record high of 5,863 infections on Monday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 11.34 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 1,735 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 538 cases and Blagoevgrad and Varna with 317 each.

The active cases are 82,910. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 7,128, including 608 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 15,497.

Another 2,022 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 469,080.

A new record high of 243 fatalities over the last 24 hours was reported, and the death toll now adds up to 23,316.

With 15,166 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,743,549 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,448,683 people are fully vaccinated, and 13,101 have received a booster jab. KK
