site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 5,863 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 13.08%

(BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 614,362, after 44,814 tests identified 5,863 new infections on Tuesday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 13.08 per cent.

The active cases are 105,543. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 8,149, including 696 in intensive care.

Another 2,587 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 484,356.

Some 145 fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 24,454.

With 18,804 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,893,502 vaccine doses have been administered so far and some 1,530,000 people are fully vaccinated, or 22 per cent of the population.

The COVID-19 incidence in Bulgaria for the past two weeks is 923 per 100,000 of population, according to data of the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.
