Sofia, November 28 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 688,628, after 25,020 tests identified 1,218 new infections on Saturday, 82.10 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 4.9 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 296 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 132 cases and Burgas Region with 109.

The active cases are 105,142. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 6,674, including 783 in intensive care. Of the 217 hospital admissions over the last 24 hours, 83.41 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical stuff have reached 17,294 since the start of the pandemic, with 13 new cases on Saturday.

Another 1,147 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 555,443.

Forty-seven fatalities were reported (91.49 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 28,043.

With 6,659 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,290,556 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,752,595 people are fully vaccinated, and 86,501 have received a booster jab.
