European Commission's Reports on Bulgaria, Romania to Be Unveiled in Coming Weeks

Brussels, January 16 (BTA correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - The
next reports by the European Commission on the Cooperation and
Verification Mechanism with Bulgaria and Romania will be
unveiled in the coming weeks, a Commission spokesman told a news
conference on Friday, taking a journalist's question.

Asked whether he could be more specific about the date,
considering Romanian President Klaus Iohannis's remark on
Thursday that the report will be ready in a matter of days, the
spokesman said he could not add more clarity to the issue.

The European Commission was originally planning to publish the
reports in the middle of January.

At a joint news conference of the Romanian President and
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Thursday,
the intention was confirmed that the Cooperation and
Verification Mechanism should be abandoned during the term of
the current European Commission, which expires in 2019.
