Chinese Companies Interested in Winning Concession at Plovdiv Airport

Sofia, March 31 (BTA) - Chinese companies are interested in
winning a concession of the Plovdiv, Southern Bulgaria, Airport,
and making it a logistical hub for Europe and Asia, the Economy
Ministry said after a meeting of Economy Minister Bozhidar
Loukarski and Tianting Jiang [name may be misspelled] of Hainan
Longquanren Century Invest and Development Co.

The company is the Chinese partner of the Euro-Asian Zone for
Economic Development, part of the Trakia Economic Zone.

A group of Chinese companies want to take part in the
construction of a logistic and trade centre in Plovdiv where
Bulgarian and European products will be showcased and exported
to Asian markets, the Chinese official said. Partner showroom
centres will also be possible to open in Chinese free zones. The
Chinese representative said that his country sets great store
by the future of electronic commerce which is expected to become
the strongest driving force of the Asian economy.

Within the Euro-Asian Zone for Economic Development in Plovdiv,
the Chinese partners intend to build conference facilities and a
Euro-Asian University.

The participants in the meeting agreed that Chinese investors
will visit Bulgaria in May to learn first-hand about the
opportunities for investing here.
